Why was the client approached for Building Renovation & Repair Services?
Problems faced: “Management House”, the office building of KMA had unequal settlement due to foundation failure and was tilted by 31.7cm towards the southwest corner along with percolation of water to the basement floor making it unutilized. Hence, they decided to lift the building x 8ft in order to have the floor level of the ground floor be 4ft above the ground level and to realign architecture along with building foundation reinforcement
In this project, the building was lifted by 8ft and realigned. A new pile foundation was cast and the superstructure was laid onto it. The needed structural foundation reinforcement was done as per the IS specifications and the building was handed over for the elevation work to be carried out to transform it into a contemporary building.

This is a common question for house-lifting contractors. They wish to know whether shifting & lifting an old building is possible or with a weak foundation is possible. The answer is ‘YES’. House Lifting & Shifting technology can be applied to all buildings irrespective of their age, size, and mode of construction. Any building can be raised from its foundation to the desired height without causing any interference to the superstructure.
