In this cited example, this particular building was constructed in a reclaimed land and also a part of the gated community or villa project. This building was constructed using pile foundation but unfortunately, the pile foundation of the building failed and the building started to witness unequal settlement. This unequal settlement led to the formation of cracks internally and externally. Cracks formed were in dilating mode and some of the cracks were having a width up to 2.5 cm. Using the state-of-the-art technology, the pile foundation was detached and a new foundation was laid for the superstructure to rest. The project was insured throughout the procedure and was also given a warranty of 25 years along with the insurance coverage for the work assigned to us.

Problems faced: Cracks were present throughout the building internally and externally due to the failure of pile foundation leading to uneven settlement. Some of the cracks were as wide as 2.5 cm and were in a dilating mode.
Project Description: In this project, the building; villa was part of a gated community and was witnessing dilating cracks internally and externally throughout. The cause of this was prima facia visible; failure of the pile foundation. Hence it was decided to reverse engineer and entire piles were detached and a new foundation was designed as per the IS specifications and the super structure was made to rest onto it. The building was handed over with 25 years warranty and with the insurance coverage.
